In cases normal hearing or mild hearing loss the app can be operated with the the sound or computer system but personally I don't recommend this as its not as clear and background noise can be more of a distraction.

Hearing Aids technology progressed from sounding like a scratchy hand held radio to a surround sound system complete with an AI assistant.   It will assist in making speech louder, and clearing some background noise.  Some models can account for body movement, and advance microphones can help you select which speaker is important to you  .All of this helps you to perceive the speech.  However the sound has a long way to travel from the cochlear to the brain for successful communication for further action.  Simply detecting a sound is not enough.   Great hearing aids, wireless headphones with noise reduction, and accessories for these devices like table top microphone  technology assist but its only half of the solution.  We need not just great technology and social support but to rewire the brain so its as good as it can be at perceiving, listening,, remembering,  and interpreting those sounds, to get to their meaning and not get the meaning of conversations lost, forgotten, or confused.
